Be Careful How You Respond to Jesus

In todays message, we look at a series of passages in which Jesus confronts the crowd regarding how they are responding to Him and His message. He warns them in a number of ways that if they dont properly respond to Him, there will be drastic consequences. You must be careful with how you respond to Jesus.

You’re Either With or Against Jesus

In todays message, Jesus interacts with a crowd who makes some blasphemous accusations of Him and His authority. After responding, Jesus concludes the interaction with a bold, divisive ultimatum: They are either with Jesus or against Him. We will unpack the encounter between Jesus and the crowd as well as the implications of the bold ultimatum that Jesus makes.

Persistent Prayer for God’s Provision

In todays sermon, Jesus teaches His disciples on the attitude with which we are to pray to our heavenly Father. In doing so, He tells a parable about a man who persistently asks his neighbor for help. He then encourages His disciples to keep asking and they will receive. Well unpack this important passage on prayer and understand the implications for us today.

Pray This Way

In today's message, Jesus's disciples ask Him how to pray. In Luke 11:1-13, Jesus teaches them on the crucial discipline of prayer. We will be focusing today only verses 1-4 which consists of what is traditionally called the Lord's prayer. As we unpack this prayer, we will see how it ought to function as a model for us in how we pray.

In todays message, we look at the well-known story of Martha and Mary. Martha is distracted with much serving, while Mary is sitting at Jesuss feet and listening to His every word. We will go through the passage to get a better understanding of it and then draw out three applications for us today. In the course of the sermon, we will determine what Jesus means by the one that this is necessary and how that is applied to our lives.

Be a Neighbor

In todays message, we look at the well-known Parable of the Good Samaritan. And we will see that the primary purpose of the parable is not that we would be able to define who our neighbor is. Jesus has a different emphasis in mind for His true followers. We will identify that primary purpose along with four other applications from the passage for us today.

The Urgency and Joy of Our Mission

In todays sermon, we look at the mission that Jesus sends the 72 disciples out on. We will see what this mission entailed, how it will be received, and then the joy that they experience when they return from their successful mission. In all of this, we will see relevance for us today as we too are called on a similar mission for Christ and the advancement of His kingdom.

We focus on looking ahead to Jesus's promised return when He will fully consummate His Kingdom. When we remember that our King is always reigning and His Kingdom is everlasting, it helps us to navigate our current circumstances and the existing kingdoms and cultures of the world. In the end, we must fix our eyes on our eternal King and live for His everlasting Kingdom.
