God Renews Us in Our Weariness

The God Who Declares Judgment and Mercy

In today's message, we see the Lord declaring judgment and condemnation on Ahab and his entire house. Bu we also witness God showing undeserved mercy to Ahab as well. And so in this passage, we encounter the God who declares righteous judgments and the God who shows unmerited mercy.

The God Who Speaks

In today's message, we see a drastic and unexpected shift the Elijah's demeanor. He was confident and bold in chapter 18 and then flees in fear in chapter 19. What happened to the prophet? In this chapter, we see Elijah struggle with fear, self-pity, and depression. And as he struggles with these things, we see God's gracious and comforting responses to Elijah. And the good news is that He responds to us in this manner as well.

The God Who is the True God

In today's message, we look at the contest between the Lord GOD and Baal in a public feat of strength before all of Israel. The winner of the contest will be deemed the true God. In 1 Kings 18, the Lord GOD is the clear winner, and we come to know and encounter God in a powerful way.
